Pierre Ekwah, a future in limbo at Saint-Étienne?

Pierre Ekwah's future hangs in the balance. According to Peuple-Vert, the French-Ghanaian midfielder could stay at Saint-Étienne... provided the club secures its place in Ligue 1.

On loan from Sunderland with a purchase option, Pierre Ekwah has showcased impressive qualities. Physical, able to break the lines, he brings valuable presence in the midfield. However, the purchase option, estimated at 4 million euros, is a significant investment for ASSE.

If the Greens remain in the top flight, the club could take advantage of this option. Conversely, relegation to Ligue 2 would jeopardize his future at Saint-Étienne. In that case, Ekwah would return to England, where he is still under contract until 2027. The player himself is keeping all options open. While he has found playing time and responsibilities in France, he also knows that his future will depend on Saint-Étienne's finances and the club's ambition. In the meantime, he remains focused on the main objective: saving ASSE. His fate is directly linked to that of the Greens.
