Premier League: Bournemouth bring down Arsenal (2-1) at the Emirates Stadium
Thunderbolt at the Emirates Stadium. Premier League leaders Arsenal FC were stunned on their home turf by AFC Bournemouth (1-2), who pulled off a historic victory. A standout performance from the Cherries, who managed to outwit one of the title favorites.
It all started badly for the Londoners, caught cold as early as the 17th minute by Junior Kroupi. Viktor Gyökeres brought his side level from the penalty spot before half-time, but despite dominating the second half, Arsenal never managed to regain the lead. Alex Scott ultimately punished their lack of efficiency by netting the decisive goal in the 74th minute.
This setback is far from trivial in the title race. Still top, Arsenal keep their fate in their own hands, but with a busier fixture list than their rivals, every mistake could now prove costly in this final sprint.
