The title race is heating up in the Premier League as Arsenal and Manchester City battle fiercely for the crown.

The Gunners lost to Bournemouth (1-2) this Saturday. While they remain at the top, they now only hold a 9-point lead over the Citizens, having played two more matches than their rivals.

If Pep Guardiola’s side manage to win their Sunday clash against Chelsea and their game in hand against Crystal Palace, they’ll close the gap to just three points behind Arsenal.

With the two sides set to go head-to-head on April 19 at the Etihad Stadium, a Manchester City victory would see them draw level at the top of the table.

If this scenario plays out and both sides finish the season tied on points, here’s how the rules determine the champion:

- Goal difference

- Most goals scored

- Head-to-head record

- Most away goals scored

If the deadlock still isn’t broken, a playoff match will be held between the two teams to decide the winner — something that hasn’t happened since the Premier League’s new era began in 1992-1993.
