PSG: What Lionel Messi said to Sergio Ramos at their very first training session!
Interview
Sergio Ramos, now the 39-year-old defender for Monterrey, looked back with emotion on a defining moment in his career: his very first training session at Paris Saint-Germain alongside Lionel Messi. The former Real Madrid captain, a longtime rival of the Argentine genius, recounted this scene filled with humor and mutual respect: "The first time I trained with Messi, he told me:
'Sergio, remember, we're on the same team now, don't hit me.' I replied: 'Relax, now I'll hit anyone who comes near you.'"
Ramos also shared the relief he felt finally wearing the same shirt as the player he had so often faced:
"When I played my first match with him, I thought to myself: 'This is great, I can finally relax.'"
After joining PSG on a free transfer in 2021 following his departure from Real Madrid, the Spanish defender played 58 matches for the club, scoring 6 goals and winning two Ligue 1 titles. It was a chapter marked by respect between two legends who were once fierce rivals.
