Raphinha Outshines Salah and Mbappe in Open-Play Goals This Season

Brazilian winger Raphinha's surprisingly outperformed Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah & Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe in one key area this season, scoring goals without relying on penalties.

Comparing the Trio’s Goal Contributions

While Salah and Mbappe lead in overall goals, Raphinha h's maintained impressive consistency in both domestic & european competitions.

• Kylian Mbappe 28 goal in 41 match
• Raphinha 25 goal in 40 match

Despite having fewer total goals, Raphinha’s numbers stand out because he's scored nearly all of them from open play. When penalty goals are excluded, the Barcelona winger surpasses both Salah & Mbappe in non penalty goals.

Penalty Dependence

• Salah's scored 11 of his 32 goal from the penalty spot, over 3rd of his total tally.
• Mbappe's converted 5 penaltie from his 28 goal.
• Raphinha's netted just 1 penalty this season.

Salah leads in penalty goals, having converted 9 in the PL and 2 in other competitions including against Girona in the UCL and Tottenham in the EFL cup.

Mbappe’s 5 penaltie all came in La Liga including against Real Betis, Real Sociedad, Espanyol, Las Palmas and Real Valladolid.

Raphinha, on the other hand, has only scored one penalty which came in Barcelona’s 5 - 1 win over Mallorca in La Liga.
