Real Madrid breaks silence on Carvajal

A tough blow for Real Madrid after their victory over FC Barcelona in the latest Clásico. While Los Merengues celebrated a crucial win in the title race, the night was overshadowed by an injury to their captain, Dani Carvajal. Substituted late in the match, the Spanish right-back has suffered a relapse of his right knee injury, a recurring issue that will sideline him for an estimated two to three months.

This morning, Real Madrid announced that the 32-year-old defender had undergone successful surgery. The procedure, an arthroscopy on his right knee, was performed by Dr. Manuel Leyes under the supervision of the club's medical staff. "Dani Carvajal will begin his rehabilitation in the coming days," stated the official release published by Los Blancos.

This injury comes at the worst possible time for Real, already weakened by several defensive absences. As a locker room leader and a pillar on Madrid's right flank, Carvajal will miss numerous key fixtures, notably in the Champions League and La Liga. His vast experience and leadership will certainly be missed by Carlo Ancelotti, who will be forced to rethink his defensive setup. In Carvajal’s absence, the Italian manager is expected to rely on Lucas Vázquez to fill the gap, while the entire Madrid squad is hoping for a swift return of their iconic captain.
