Real Madrid: Camavinga's red card against Bayern, Álvaro Arbeloa explains

After Real Madrid's elimination last Wednesday in the Champions League quarterfinals, Los Blancos are now facing a trophyless season. Blamed for the Champions League exit after his controversial red card, Eduardo Camavinga has the backing of Álvaro Arbeloa.

In a press conference on Monday ahead of the La Liga clash with Alavés, Álvaro Arbeloa addressed the controversial sending off of Eduardo Camavinga against Bayern Munich in the Champions League last Wednesday.

"He is disappointed, just like everyone else. It was clearly a serious mistake by the referee. It's obvious he wasn't aware that Camavinga already had a booking. I think it's a very serious error. And even without the card, it puts a player at a huge disadvantage in a match of this magnitude. Camavinga is disappointed because he knows how important the Champions League is for Real Madrid. He has my full trust, the club's support, and the affection of the fans, and I hope he'll stay with us for many years to come," said the Spanish coach.
