After all the disappointments for Real Madrid this season, Alvaro Arbeloa’s tenure is unlikely to extend beyond this summer. Didier Deschamps’ name has been floated by the Spanish press—a choice that has received the green light from Luis Figo.

Currently managing France for what could be his last World Cup at the helm of Les Bleus, Didier Deschamps is high on the shortlist of the Madrid board, who are big admirers of his profile.

The idea has the approval of Luis Figo. For the Real Madrid legend, Deschamps’ arrival at the club with the most Champions League titles in history is a perfect fit.

Now, it’s time for a new chapter, and with the quality you have, you could form two talented teams with incredible players. A new era is about to begin for him, but obviously I believe Deschamps has the experience and personality to succeed with any team." he stated.
