On Friday evening, Kylian Mbappé’s injury-forced departure after scoring against Turkey marred Zinédine Zidane’s debut. Real Madrid and Spain are worried.

According to Zinédine Zidane, Kylian Mbappé will probably leave the squad and return to Madrid. "Any news on Kylian? Unfortunately, things aren’t going well. I think he’ll have to return. Is it the end of the international break for him? Yes, we’re not going to take any risks. He hyperextended his knee when taking the shot. It’s not exactly encouraging," Zizou said on TF1 on Friday evening.

In Spain, the press is concerned about his unavailability. "We remember that Mbappé had already been hampered last season because of problems with this same left knee, on two occasions," Marca recalls. "His left knee, once again. The one that generated so much discussion last season. The one that caused a real earthquake following a misdiagnosis. (...) Concern is growing at Real Madrid. No one is speaking; everyone is waiting for the results of the examinations. But the tension is palpable," AS reports.
