Riyad Mahrez: "My dream was to play at the Vélodrome"
Riyad Mahrez

In a recent interview, Riyad Mahrez expressed his affection for Olympique de Marseille.

Although he came up through Le Havre in Ligue 2, Riyad Mahrez truly made his mark after moving to England. The Algerian star has never played in Ligue 1. However, as he revealed in an interview with L’Équipe, the Algerian phenomenon would have loved to wear the OM shirt.

"Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to play in Marseille. That was my dream. I was a huge OM fan. All the players who went through there: Drogba, Niang, Nasri, Ribéry... My dream was to play at the Vélodrome in Ligue 1. My career took a very different path..." he said.

Today, Mahrez is 34 years old and plays for Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia.
