Sekou Diawara signs with FC Zurich

FC Zurich has officially announced the signing of Belgian-Guinean striker Sekou Diawara. The 21-year-old has inked a three-year contract with an option for two additional seasons and will initially play with the U21 squad.


Diawara, who developed his skills in Belgium with KAA Gent and KRC Genk, made the move to Italy in the summer of 2023 to join Serie A side Udinese. There, he made a handful of appearances with the first team before being loaned out to several clubs, including Beerschot, where he helped secure the second division title in the 2023/24 season.


Sekou Diawara has also represented Belgium at youth international level, earning eight caps and scoring four goals, further showcasing his international potential.
