Senegal: Nobel Mendy knocks on the doors of the Teranga Lions

After the announcement of Malang Sarr’s arrival, Nobel Mendy could be set to discover the den of the Teranga Lions during the upcoming FIFA international break in March.

Several sources in Senegal indicate that Nobel Mendy has been called up for the two friendlies in March against Peru and Gambia.

If these reports are confirmed, the young center-back, just 21 years old, will earn his first call-up with the African champions. It's a dream come true for him. "The World Cup has been my childhood dream and a clear goal in my mind," he recently stated in an interview.

Nobel Mendy has featured in 17 matches, starting 16 of them in La Liga this season for Rayo Vallecano. He has scored twice, including a goal against Atlético Madrid during a 3-0 victory on matchday 24.
