Serie A: Bologna part ways with their coach

The start of the season proved fatal for Domenico Tedesco. Appointed Bologna’s head coach this summer, the 41-year-old manager is already leaving his position after just four league matches. The Italian club, which has only one point in Serie A, officially announced his replacement by Raffaele Palladino.

Domenico Tedesco leaves Bologna after four matchdays

Arriving to take charge of the team this season, Domenico Tedesco did not have time to establish his project on a lasting basis. Bologna collected just one point from their first four Serie A matches, a record that led the club’s management to act quickly.

The former Belgium manager had also coached RB Leipzig and Fenerbahçe before moving to Italy. His spell at Bologna therefore ends after just a few weeks.

Raffaele Palladino signs until 2029

To replace him, Bologna chose Raffaele Palladino. The 42-year-old manager signed a contract until summer 2029, confirming the club’s desire to place its long-term trust in him.

Palladino already has significant experience in Serie A. In particular, he managed Monza and Fiorentina, before recently taking charge of Atalanta. The change is therefore a sudden one for Bologna, but the club is now counting on Palladino to revive its season and establish a new long-term project.
