Sheriff Tiraspol welcomes a new young central defender to their ranks. On Friday, March 7, 2025, Soumaïla Magassouba officially signed with the Moldovan Championship leaders until December 2027.

Sheriff Tiraspol has strengthened its defense with the arrival of Soumaïla Magassouba, a talented central defender from Mali. Born on June 28, 2004, he proved himself at FC Stade Malien, where he caught the attention of international scouts with his solid performances and promising potential. He particularly stood out during the CAF Cup 2024/2025, where he opened his scoring account in his first appearance.

During the winter transfer window, he was rumored to be close to joining Al Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. Later, Sheriff Tiraspol made an offer of 100,000 euros to secure the services of the young defender. An agreement was finally reached between the concerned parties. The news of Soumaïla Magassouba's transfer was officially announced today by the club, which has been Moldovan Super Liga champions 21 times.
