Super Eagles forward Terem Moffi's set to return to action on Wednesday, marking 240 days since he suffered anterior cruciate ligament ACL injury that ruled him out for the entire season.

Injury & Recovery Journey

Moffi sustained the injury during Nice training session in Jul 2023 forcing him to undergo surgery and miss 37 consecutive matches. The injury came at frustrating time, as he'd just concluded strong season, scoring 11 goal and providing 2 assist in 30 appearance, attracting interest from top european clubs like Roma & West Ham.

The 25 year old resumed light training at the beginning of March, steadily working his way back to full fitness. On Saturday, Nice confirmed his progress by sharing images of him participating in an intense training session with teammates.

Gradual Return to Action

Reports from Shango Foot suggest Moffi could make his 1st appearance in Nice U23 friendly against Brighton U23s next week as part of his reintegration process.

Given the severity of the injury, Nice will take cautious approach likely easing him back through minutes with the reserve team before reintroducing him to 1st team action.

What’s Next for Moffi?

With just 2 months left in the season, Moffi may have limited 1st team opportunities but will look to regain match fitness ahead of the next pre season. His focus will be on fighting for a starting spot when the new campaign begins.
