The Verdict:
In my opinion Lionel Messi's the greatest footballer of all time and that’s due to his consistency, skill and achievements with 8 Ballon d'or awards, numerous league and Champions League titles and winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup, all of which have proven his greatness at club and national team level and his records including being Barcelona's all time top scorer and having the most goal in La Liga season, highlight his impact on the game. While football has seen many legends, I believe Messi's ability to perform at the highest level for so many years makes him the greatest player of all time.
But each of these legends has compelling case to be named the greatest player of all time, ronaldo’s versatility and record breaking achievements, Pele’s world cup triumphs and goal scoring prowess and Maradona’s sheer genius and iconic moments all contribute to their unique legacies.
