Transfer market: Lyon, Lens, and Lille keep an eye on this Nigerian player
The summer transfer window promises to be lively for Olympique Lyonnais (OL), RC Lens, and LOSC Lille, all keen on Igoh Ogbu. The 25-year-old Nigerian central defender currently plays for Slavia Prague.
Facing issues in central defense this season, Olympique Lyonnais has identified Ogbu as a priority. Coach Paulo Fonseca seemingly no longer relies on Caleta-Car or Omari. The club is thus in search of a solid starter to form a reliable partnership with Moussa Niakhaté or Clinton Mata.
In this regard, OL is reported to have convinced Ogbu to join them next summer, according to Top Mercato. Having joined Slavia Prague in June 2023 from Lillestrom, the Nigerian player quickly made a significant impact at the Czech club. This season, Igoh Ogbu has made 20 appearances in the Czech First League out of 26 matchdays, scoring 2 goals.
The Lyon club must now negotiate with Slavia Prague to secure the transfer of the Nigerian international. However, the competition is fierce. Both RC Lens and LOSC Lille are closely monitoring the defender's performances, aware of his value and potential.
