U17 AFCON: Burkina Faso and Mali reach quarter-finals
Burkina Faso and Mali are the first two teams to qualify for the 2025 U17 Africa Cup of Nations. With another victory, the young Stallions and the Eaglets have brought their tally to six points during the second matchday of the competition in Morocco.
Mali and Burkina Faso dominate their groups
The second day of the 2025 U17 AFCON concluded this Friday, April 4, in Morocco. After two days of competition, Burkina Faso and Mali are the only teams to have won their first two matches, securing a spot in the quarter-finals. The young Stallions, with six points and a goal difference of +2, top Group B, while the Eaglets, also with six points, lead Group D.
Suspense in other groups
While Burkina Faso and Mali have already secured their quarter-final spots, the suspense remains in the other groups. In Group A, Morocco and Zambia are tied with 4 points each, but Uganda is lurking just a point behind. In Group C, Tunisia and Senegal share the lead with 4 points each, while Gambia remains hopeful after their big win over Somalia (5-1).
