Moroccan international Nayef Aguerd will not take part in Olympique de Marseille’s clash with Real Madrid, set for Tuesday at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, for the opening matchday of the Champions League group stage, as reported by French channel RMC.

Nayef Aguerd ruled out against Real Madrid!

The defender missed Monday morning’s training session due to a head injury suffered in the last match against Lorient, in which he had found the back of the net for his team.

Aguerd is currently following concussion protocol to ensure his safety before returning to action.

This absence is a major blow for OM, who will have to cope without one of their top defensive assets—a player who delivered a stellar performance in his first start for the club. In the previous match, Aguerd was awarded a rating of 9.2/10 and was named man of the match.

Note that Real Madrid will face Olympique de Marseille tomorrow, Tuesday, at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 7:00 PM GMT.
