UEFA Champions League / PSG 2–0 Liverpool: Arsenal legend tears into the Reds
Paris Saint-Germain made a bold statement by dominating Liverpool FC (2-0) in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final. The Parisians delivered a commanding performance that exposed the worrying shortcomings of the English club, who were completely outclassed at the Parc des Princes.
Speaking on RMC's After Foot show, Emmanuel Petit didn't hold back:
"I haven't seen this Liverpool side play this badly in ages."
He also highlighted the Reds' overall lack of efficiency:
"If we criticize Dembélé for his lack of finishing, then we have to point the finger at every Liverpool player tonight—they were absolutely woeful."
The former midfielder especially singled out Virgil van Dijk:
"I've never seen Van Dijk play so poorly (...) he was just a traffic cone in central defense."
Before adding:
"Luckily, Konaté was the only one defending on Wednesday."
He wrapped up with a sweeping attack:
"The Premier League is absolutely dreadful this year!"
