Another new triumph for Luis Enrique's Paris Saint-Germain. The Parisians clinched the UEFA Super Cup with a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa.

After defeating Aston Villa (2-1) on Wednesday night, Paris Saint-Germain captured their second consecutive UEFA Super Cup. With this latest achievement, the French capital club becomes only the fourth team in history to retain this title, joining Ajax Amsterdam (1973, 1974), AC Milan (1989, 1990), and Real Madrid (2016, 2017).

Désiré Doué recounts his goal in the final

In Wednesday night's final, Désiré Doué scored a bizarre goal for PSG. Everyone, including the assistant referee who raised his flag, thought the Paris Saint-Germain winger was offside. However, the French international played until the whistle, and VAR confirmed the goal as Matty Cash, the Villans' full-back, was playing him onside.

"Personally, I didn’t see what was behind me. I made the run, Ousmane (Dembélé) played me through, and I just focused on finishing. The referee blew for a goal—it’s amazing, you just have to take it," the Frenchman told Canal+ after the match.
