(Video) Endrick stuns PSG: Real Madrid loanee fires Lyon to famous 2-1 win at Parc des Princes
Endrick delivered the defining moment of the night as Lyon beat Paris Saint Germain 2-1 at Parc des Princes in a key Ligue 1 Matchday 30 clash handing the leaders a damaging home defeat and tightening the title race at the top of the table.
The Brazilian forward, on loan from Real Madrid, struck after only seven minutes with a fierce finish that gave PSG an early warning they never fully recovered from.
Lyon then doubled their advantage 11 minute later through Afonso Moreira leaving Luis Enrique’s side chasing the game for most of the evening.
Endrick sets the tone
PSG came into the match carrying momentum from their Champions League progress against Liverpool and a league win over Toulouse but Lyon unsettled them almost immediately.
Endrick latched onto a precise through ball and lashed his shot past the goalkeeper with conviction capping a move that exposed PSG’s defence far too easily.
It was the kind of goal that changed the mood inside the stadium. Instead of controlling the game, PSG were suddenly forced into a recovery job against a Lyon side that looked sharper, quicker and far more direct.
Lyon’s second goal arrived in the 18 minute, with Moreira finishing to deepen PSG’s problems. The home side were given a route back into the contest in the 34 minute but Goncalo Ramos failed to convert from the penalty spot, a miss that proved costly.
PSG leave it too late
PSG pushed for a response after the break but their attacks lacked precision until deep into stoppage time. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia finally pulled one back in the 94 minute but by then Lyon were already within touching distance of a major result.
The defeat leaves PSG on 63 point at the top of Ligue 1, only one point clear of second placed Lens. Lyon, meanwhile moved to 54 point in third place strengthening their push for European qualification.
