Villarreal: Nicolas Pépé, the dry spell

Nicolas Pépé burst onto the scene at the start of the 2025/2026 season with Villarreal in La Liga.

The Ivorian winger netted twice and provided an assist in the opening three matches, even earning the La Liga Player of the Month award for August. His lightning pace and ability to create danger made him a key asset for the team.

But in recent weeks, his performances have dipped. Pépé has been less involved in dangerous plays and hasn't found the back of the net since August 31. Nevertheless, Villarreal remains confident: his one-on-one quality is still there, and he can become decisive again at any moment if he returns to top form.
