What future for Leon Balogun at Glasgow Rangers?
Interview
Leon Balogun is nearing the end of a remarkable journey. At 36, the Nigerian central defender will be a free agent next May. His contract with the Rangers is coming to an end, and so far, no extension has been signed.
Leon Balogun does not hide his attachment to the club. After the defeat against Bilbao in the Europa League, he spoke to Rangers Review:
I have always dreamed of playing here. I love this club, everything it stands for. If I can stay another season, I would gladly do so.
Despite his age, he remains an important player in the dressing room. This season, he has played 26 matches across all competitions, scored a goal, and provided an assist. His solidity and experience are invaluable. But discussions are dragging on. The club is slow to make a clear stance. Hence the question: should he stay in Glasgow or seek one last adventure elsewhere?
