Called up by Sebastien Desabre for the October camp, Brian Cipenga is celebrating his first cap with the Leopards. It’s a well-deserved reward for this 27-year-old winger, who seized his chance after Grady Diangana’s injury opened the door for him to join the squad as reinforcement.

Born in Kinshasa on March 11, 1998, Brian Cipenga currently plays in Spain’s Segunda División with CD Castellón. He made his professional debut at Boavista in Portugal, before donning the shirts of several Portuguese teams, including Freamunde, SC Ideal, Anadia, Vilaverdense, and Paços Ferreira.

Arriving in Spain in the summer of 2024, he has so far featured in 24 matches, tallying 6 goals and 3 assists. In the 2025-2026 season alone, he boasts 3 goals and 2 assists in just 7 appearances across all competitions.

Cipenga’s goal is to win Desabre’s trust and earn a call-up for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco at the end of the year.

The DR Congo, currently second in their group just two points behind Senegal, will take on Togo (October 10) and Sudan (October 14) in the final two matchdays of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
