Good news for Senegal. With just three days to go before the second round of the World Cup against Norway, the Teranga Lions are celebrating the return of Edouard Mendy.

The Al-Ahli goalkeeper missed Friday’s training session, raising concerns among the technical staff. However, relief swept through the camp as the 34-year-old shot-stopper joined Saturday’s training at Rutgers, New Jersey.

According to Senenews, the former Chelsea keeper is not injured. From the start of the session, Mendy reclaimed his starting spot. His presence has restored confidence to the backline and given the team a huge boost ahead of the crucial clash with Norway.

After a 1-3 defeat to France in the opening round, Senegal must win to keep their hopes of reaching the World Cup Round of 16 alive.
