Locked in a heated battle with Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland for the top scorer title at the 2026 World Cup, Kylian Mbappé refuses to buckle under pressure, keeping his focus firmly on the collective performance of the French national team.

With four goals since the start of the 2026 World Cup, Kylian Mbappé is right in the thick of the race for the Golden Boot. Yet, the French striker is adamant about not fixating on individual accolades, despite the fierce competition from Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland.

"I’m not thinking about the top scorer title. For me, it’s crucial to have a collective structure so we’re confident in our strengths. I’ve always scored goals at the World Cup, so it’s not something I need to worry about," assured the French captain.

Additionally, the Real Madrid forward dismissed any notion of a personal duel with the Argentine superstar.

"No, there’s no saga. Leo has always scored, he’s scoring now, and he’ll always score. I don’t pay attention to what he does, otherwise I’d have to do even more. I’m only focused on my team," he concluded.
