World Cup 2026 (Q): Emilio Nsue scores on his return to Nzalang Nacional

Emilio Nsue makes a triumphant return to Nzalang Nacional with a goal against Sao Tome and Principe this afternoon. This was during the 5th matchday of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Emilio Nsue is further cementing his legendary status with the Equatorial Guinea national team. Just days after marking his return to Nzalang Nacional, the 35-year-old found the back of the net this Friday during his team's 2-0 victory over Sao Tome and Principe. In a match that was heavily in favor of Equatorial Guinea, they wasted no time in kicking off the action thanks to Nsue. In the 14th minute, he opened the scoring with an assist from Iban Salvador.

Salvador then doubled the lead for Equatorial Guinea. It should be noted that Emilio Nsue played the entire match, showcasing his remarkable form despite his age. He is likely to be in the starting lineup again against Namibia on March 24th for the 6th matchday. In 44 appearances, Nsue has scored a total of 22 goals. Impressive statistics for a forward of his caliber, averaging a goal every two matches. Coach Juan Micha is certainly delighted to see his offensive gem back in action.
