World Cup 2026 (Q): Guinea-Bissau's squad list with Beto and four newcomers
The head coach of Guinea-Bissau has unveiled a list of 25 players for the 5th and 6th matchdays of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Luís Boa Morte has called up four new players for the matches against Sierra Leone and Burkina Faso.
Luís Boa Morte has made bold decisions for this international window. Aware of the challenges facing his team, he has decided to inject fresh blood by calling up four players who have never worn the national team jersey. They are: Babacar Fáti, a defender playing at SJK in Finland; Mario Junior, a defender from UD Oliveirense in Portugal; Vando Felix, a midfielder from Vitória Guimarães, also in Portugal; and Tamble Ulisses Folgado, a forward from Portimonense, also in Portugal.
Also notable is the presence of Beto, a striker for Everton FC in the English Premier League. The 27-year-old player has been on fire with the Toffees since the arrival of coach David Moyes. He has scored 5 goals in the last 7 matches with the English club.
