World Cup 2026 (Q): Michel Dussuyer furious with his players
In the World Cup 2026 qualifiers, Guinea recorded a dismal result (0-0) against Somalia. A score that left the Syli National coach, Michel Dussuyer, fuming at the end of the match.
Guinea missed a big opportunity to catch up with Algeria and Mozambique (1st and 2nd with 12 points) in Group G. Michel Dussuyer's men were held to a draw by Somalia, with the match ending 0-0. A result that frustrated the French coach of the Syli National, and he didn't hide it after the match:
It's inconceivable not to have scored a goal. It's a match that Guinea should have won, unfortunately. There is, of course, a huge disappointment. The objective was to take the three points. Now, we have a match to play in Kampala on Tuesday. We need to bounce back quickly to win in Uganda. There are still matches to play, it's true that we've fallen behind. We need to get a positive result in Kampala. We have to react. Tonight is very tough for us. There was a lot of frustration and anger. We will motivate the boys again, hoping we will be much more effective and decisive in front of goal. Against Somalia, we missed the final touch.
The main objective for the Syli National now is to win the match against Uganda at all costs on March 25th in the 6th round. As a reminder, Guinea is 3rd in Group G with 7 points.
