The top group runners-up in the African qualifiers will have a chance to compete for a coveted spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In addition to the nine group winners who will qualify automatically, the four best runners-up will get the opportunity to play in a mini-tournament, with the winner advancing to an intercontinental playoff.
