World Cup 2026 qualifiers: provisional ranking of the best group runners-up

The top group runners-up in the African qualifiers will have a chance to compete for a coveted spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In addition to the nine group winners who will qualify automatically, the four best runners-up will get the opportunity to play in a mini-tournament, with the winner advancing to an intercontinental playoff.

It's worth noting that the next edition of the 2026 World Cup will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, featuring 48 participating nations.
