World Cup 2026: Senegal's probable lineup against Sudan

Senegal is gearing up to face Sudan this Saturday at 19:00 GMT as part of the qualifications for the 2026 World Cup. For this crucial match, Pape Thiaw might opt for an attack-oriented 4-2-3-1 formation. Boulaye Dia, supporting Chérif Ndiaye, would be positioned as the playmaker.

Currently third in Group B, the Lions are two points behind Sudan and DR Congo. A victory would allow Sadio Mané's teammates to regain the advantage in the race for qualification.

The match will be held at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in Libya and promises to be intense against the "Falcons of Jediane".

The Lions' key players are ready!

In defense, Edouard Mendy will guard the goal, supported by Kalidou Koulibaly and Moussa Niakhaté at the center. Krépin Diatta is expected to take the right flank, while Moussa Ndiaye might make his first start on the left.

The midfield should see the experienced duo Idrissa Gana Gueye and Pape Gueye maintaining balance.

In attack, and in the absence of Iliman Ndiaye, Boulaye Dia will play as the playmaker. He will be flanked by Ismaïla Sarr and captain Sadio Mané on the wings, with Chérif Ndiaye leading the line.

Below is the probable lineup of the Lions of Senegal:

E. Mendy – Diatta, Koulibaly, Niakhaté, M. Ndiaye – Gana Gueye, Pape Gueye – I. Sarr, B. Dia, S. Mané – C. Ndiaye.
