World Cup 2026/Troost-Ekong: "The Super Eagles will do everything to get there"

The Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, has made it clear: the goal remains unchanged—qualifying Nigeria for the 2026 World Cup.

After securing a spot in the CAF zone playoffs, the defender admitted that the path has been tougher than expected, but insists the team is focused and determined ahead of the decisive clash against DR Congo. He called on Nigerians to keep supporting the squad, emphasizing that fan backing will be crucial:

The players can't do it alone.

The team is now zeroing in on the African playoff final against the Leopards, the last hurdle before a possible intercontinental playoff. Troost-Ekong has vowed that the Super Eagles will give their all to return to the grandest stage in world football after missing out on the 2022 edition.
