2026 World Cup / Argentina - Algeria: key Fennecs player remains doubtful!
With the highly anticipated opener against Argentina fast approaching, doubts still linger over Ramy Bensebaïni's availability. Back in full team training, the Algerian defender is racing against the clock to regain full fitness.
Just three days before the high-stakes clash with Argentina, all of Algeria is holding its breath over Ramy Bensebaïni. The Borussia Dortmund defender felt pain in his right ankle during last Tuesday's session at Rock Chalk Park, prompting the medical staff to grant him two days of rest. This injury is unrelated to his previous left ankle issue, but it was enough to sideline him from the last friendly against Bolivia.

There is good news, however: Bensebaïni trained normally with the squad on Friday morning, a clear sign that his recovery is on track. Still, he saw no minutes against Bolivia, as Petkovic gave each of his players 45 minutes to adapt to the Kansas City climate.
This leaves the question of whether he will start against the Albiceleste completely open. With just three days left until this prestigious showdown, it may not be enough time to guarantee that Bensebaïni will be at 100% when the whistle blows.
