Norway took the lead thanks to a spectacular goal from Schjelderup, but England clawed back an equalizer in the dying seconds of the first half of this quarter-final.

Despite dominating possession against a Norwegian side camped deep in defense, England struggled for attacking sharpness for much of the match, slowed further by Miami’s sweltering heat. The script flipped in the 36th minute, completely against the run of play.

It was captain Martin Ødegaard who set up the young Andreas Schjelderup, whose floating strike deceived Jordan Pickford and nestled into the top corner, igniting wild celebrations among the Scandinavian fans. Moments earlier, Erling Haaland had already put a scare into the English defense after a mistake from John Stones.

But wounded in their pride, the Three Lions hit back in stoppage time. Jude Bellingham finally broke through to bring the teams level just before the break. Moments later, Harry Kane thought he had put England ahead in the 45+4th minute, but his goal was ultimately disallowed after a referee review.

Both teams headed into the dressing rooms with the score tied at 1-1 after a particularly lively first half.
