2026 World Cup - France: Hugo Lloris wants to return
Since retiring from international football in January 2023, Hugo Lloris appears to be open to a return to the French national team.
The Los Angeles FC goalkeeper would be willing to take on the role of third-choice keeper in Didier Deschamps' squad.
"Out of modesty and respect for the current goalkeepers, he will never campaign to be there, he doesn't want to be the one to take someone else's spot. But obviously, he wouldn't say no to a call-up for France. Once again, it's not about putting himself forward or pulling any strings to get selected," Lloris' camp told LโEquipe.
Even though current number three Lucas Chevalier is struggling at PSG, the return of the former French captain "is not on the table" as the 2026 World Cup approaches, according to a source contacted by the sports daily.
