2026 World Cup: How did Tunisia fare in their opening group match?
Tunisia will face off against Sweden on Monday, June 15, marking their first appearance in the 2026 World Cup.
The Carthage Eagles are set to compete in their sixth World Cup, following previous campaigns in 1978, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2018, and 2022.
The 2004 AFCON champions have recorded one win, two draws, and three losses in their opening matches at the tournament.

Back in 1978, Tunisia stunned the world by defeating Mexico 3-1, before suffering 2-0 defeats to England and Russia in the 1998 and 2002 tournaments, respectively.
Afterwards, they drew 2-2 with Saudi Arabia in the 2006 World Cup. In 2018, they narrowly lost to England, and in the most recent edition, they held Denmark to a goalless draw (0-0).
Alongside the Blågult, Tunisia will also take on Japan and the Netherlands in the 2026 World Cup group stage.
