The 6th edition of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) took place in Cameroon, featuring 16 national teams.

In addition to Cameroon (the host nation), 15 other African countries participated in the tournament: Cameroon, Mali, Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, Libya, DR Congo, Congo, Niger, Morocco, Rwanda, Uganda, Togo, Zambia, Guinea, Namibia, and Tanzania.

Morocco makes it two

Led by a red-hot Sofiane Rahimi, the Moroccan squad dominated this 5th edition of the CHAN from start to finish.

In the group stage, the "Atlas Lions" collected 7 points thanks to wins over Togo (1-0) and Uganda (5-2), along with a draw against Rwanda (0-0). In the quarterfinals, they defeated Zambia 3-1 before sealing the title with a 2-0 victory over Mali in the final.
