Al Ahly: José Riveiro calls for three defensive signings

After an early exit from the Club World Cup, Al Ahly's new head coach José Riveiro is determined to bolster his defensive line.

According to Ahly News, the former Orlando Pirates boss has requested three reinforcements: a right-back, a centre-back, and a left-back. Riveiro has submitted his requests to president Mahmoud El Khatib, highlighting the defensive mistakes witnessed during the global tournament.

Despite the disappointment, the Spanish tactician continues preparations for next season behind the scenes, while the team is currently on holiday ahead of a pre-season training camp scheduled in Spain for mid-July. President El Khatib has reaffirmed his full confidence in Riveiro and sporting director Mohamed Youssef, with the ambition of achieving a historic season.
