Algeria: new CAF decision ahead of AFCON 2025

With just weeks to go before the kick-off of AFCON 2025, CAF has stunned everyone by announcing a change in the match times for Algeria's national team. This last-minute but now official modification forces Vladimir Petkovic and his staff to adjust their preparations in an already high-pressure environment driven by the need for results.

Match 1: Algeria vs Sudan at 16:00
Match 2: Algeria vs Burkina Faso at 18:30
Match 3: Algeria vs Equatorial Guinea at 17:00

These time slots, slightly moved forward or pushed back depending on the fixture, could impact player recovery and physical management, especially given the intense Moroccan heat forecasted for December.

The stakes are sky-high for the Fennecs. Since their 2019 triumph, they've endured three painful campaigns—two group stage exits and a failure to qualify for the 2022 World Cup. Petkovic, who bears no responsibility for these setbacks, knows full well he has no room for error: Algeria must bounce back.
