At 37, Yunis Abdelhamid set to bounce back in Morocco
With his contract at AS Saint-Étienne expiring on June 30, 2025, Yunis Abdelhamid is closing in on a deal with Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces. The Moroccan center-back could sign with the Rabat-based club in the coming days.
At 37, Yunis Abdelhamid clearly has no intention of hanging up his boots. After several seasons in France, most notably with Dijon and, above all, Reims, where he became a key figure, the Moroccan defender is set to embark on a new chapter once his contract with AS Saint-Étienne comes to an end.
A fresh start in familiar territory
According to French media, Yunis Abdelhamid is preparing to join one of the most decorated clubs in the Kingdom. The Royal Armed Forces (AS FAR), last season’s runners-up in the Moroccan league, are reportedly set to secure his signature. The Moroccan international is said to have reached a one-year agreement with the Rabat club. While an official announcement is expected soon, no contract has been signed as of yet.
