After Neymar, Marquinhos may also decide to call time on his international career.

The Brazilian center-back, who plays for PSG, remained ambiguous after his team’s elimination by Norway (1-2) in the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup.

"Playing for your country is a call-up, you can’t say no. The next World Cup is in four years, I’ll be 36, it’ll be very difficult for me to keep playing at this level. Young players will come through and push us to be even better than today. We’ll see what happens next," the PSG defender told beIN Sports.
