CAF Announces African Legends for Champions League & Confederation Cup Draw

The draw for the quarter finals of the African Champions League and Confederation Cup will take place on Thursday 20 February 2025 in Qatar, with 4 African football legends helping to conduct the draw.

The selected legends are:

From Egypt Wael Gomaa (winner of the African Champions League 6 times with Al Ahly and the African Cup of Nations champion 3 times).
From Algeria Rabah Madjer (winner of the African Cup of Nations in 1990 and scorer of the famous back heel goal in the 1987 Champions League final).
From Zambia Rainford Kalaba (Zambia's 2012 AFCON winner and CAF Champions League winner with TP Mazembe).
From the Democratic Republic of the Congo Ben Malango (twice winner of the CAF Confederation Cup with TP Mazembe 2017 and Raja Casablanca 2021).

The draw will determine the potential quarter final and semi final ties in both competitions and will be hosted by beIN SPORTS studios in Doha.

Stellenbosch FC (South Africa)
USM Alger (Algeria)

The CAF Champions League quarter finals will be held on 1 & 8 April 2025, while the 2nd and 9th will be the dates for the 2025 Confederation Cup matches.

The winner of the African Champions League will receive 3.5 million US dollar, while the winner of the Confederation Cup will receive 1.75 million US dollar.
