CAN 2025 / Ahead of DR Congo, Algeria still weakened
Two days before the round of 16 clash against the Democratic Republic of Congo, Algeria continues its preparations in a still restricted context. Tuesday's session, scheduled for 5 p.m. to match the kick-off time, was marked by an intense workload, with a lighter session expected on the eve of the match.
On the pitch, the squad remains thin: 24 players were present, including 21 outfield players and three goalkeepers. The defensive line is still undermanned with the absences of Mohamed Amine Tougai, Samir Chergui, Jaouen Hadjam, and Rayan Aït-Nouri.
Nevertheless, the session was highlighted by a visit from the Federation president, Walid Sadi, who came to encourage the squad ahead of this crucial fixture. A strong show of support at a time when squad management could make all the difference.
