CAN 2025 - Morocco: Romain Saïss explains his tears against Comoros

Substituted due to injury on Sunday night during the opening match of CAN 2025 between Morocco and Comoros, Romain Saïss opens up about his tears.

Yesterday, Romain Saïss was forced off after only 18 minutes in the match against Comoros, following a knock to his knee. The Atlas Lions captain immediately raised concerns. In the mixed zone, the central defender did not hide his distress. "It saddens me because I put in a tremendous amount of effort to come back and be here. We’ll do some tests tomorrow and see what they show. It’s a race against the clock, but I have to stay positive," he said.

And despite the pain and uncertainty, Saïss made a point of focusing on the team’s collective performance. "The most important thing was to win. Not everything can be perfect in a first match. We have to keep the positives and iron out the minor mistakes. Inshallah, we’ll grow stronger as the tournament goes on," he added.
