CAN 2025: Omar Marmoush sees Egypt lifting the trophy in Morocco
Egyptian international and Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush has shared his thoughts on the upcoming CAN 2025, set to kick off in four days in Morocco. The Sky Blues winger firmly believes in the Pharaohs' chances of continental glory.
Yesterday, Omar Marmoush struck an optimistic tone during a press conference just five days before the start of CAN 2025. The Manchester City striker is confident in his nation’s prospects, with Egypt drawn in Group B alongside South Africa, Angola, and Zimbabwe, to clinch their eighth continental title.
“We are going to win the Africa Cup of Nations, of course, and then the World Cup,” declared Omar Marmoush. “With the players, the squad, and the quality we have as the Egyptian national team, we are the best team in Africa. We don’t just want to make a name for ourselves by saying: ‘We played in the World Cup’—that’s not enough. We’re going to the World Cup to get out of the group stage and show the world who we are.” added the Manchester City player.
