After three days of competition, four goalkeepers have already made their mark during the first matchday of the group stage of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2025).

Yannick Pandor (Comoros)

While Ayoub El Kaabi stole the spotlight in the opener with his acrobatic overhead kick, Yannick Pandor was the first to shine by saving a penalty from Sofiane Rahimi. The Comoros keeper was outstanding, even in defeat.

Goitseone Phoko (Botswana)

Despite Botswana's heavy 0-3 defeat to Senegal, Goitseone Phoko delivered a strong performance between the posts. He racked up 14 saves and stood firm against Sadio Mané and the relentless attacks from the Lions of Teranga.

Foba Zuberi (Tanzania)

Tanzania lost their opening match to Nigeria (1-2), but that didn’t stop Foba Zuberi from being named man of the match. The Azam FC goalkeeper made eight saves against the Super Eagles.
