CF Monterrey wants Cristiano Ronaldo for one month!
Argentinian media have revealed in recent hours that Mexican club Monterrey is aiming to make a sensational move ahead of the Club World Cup by signing Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, the 40-year-old captain of Al-Nassr.
Ronaldo to represent Monterrey at the Club World Cup?
According to Argentine newspaper Olé, Monterrey has offered Cristiano Ronaldo a short-term deal, lasting just one month, so he can join the Mexican side for the Club World Cup.
The future of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner remains uncertain, as his contract with Al-Nassr is set to expire at the end of the season, with no extension yet agreed.
Ronaldo has played 40 matches this season for Al-Nassr across all competitions, netting 34 goals and providing 4 assists.
It’s worth noting that Monterrey, who have former Spanish international defender Sergio Ramos in their ranks, will compete in Group E of the Club World Cup alongside Inter Milan (Italy), River Plate (Argentina), and Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan).
