Champions League Matchday 1 is complete, with 18 games played and 69 goals scored across three nights of action.

The opening matchday of the 2026-27 Champions League came to an end on Thursday, September 10. The 18 fixtures were spread across three nights, with most of Europe’s major clubs getting the job done, except where the heavyweights faced each other directly. In total, 69 goals were scored, an average of 3.83 per match.

Among the biggest statements, Paris Saint-Germain thrashed Slovan Bratislava 6-1, Barcelona beat Feyenoord 5-1 and Bayern Munich swept aside Bodø/Glimt 5-0. Back in the competition after three years away, Manchester United also made the perfect return with a 4-0 win over Sabah.
