UFOA A: Guinea eliminate Senegal

Senegal will not participate in the Ghana 2027 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations. The UFOA A champions were eliminated by Guinea in the semi-finals. The Young Lions of Senegal lost after taking a 2-0 lead.

Gueye puts Senegal ahead as Guinea turn the game around

Senegal took the lead just before the end of the first half. Moussa Gueye opened the scoring for the Young Lions of Senegal in the 45+3rd minute. The Senegalese striker scored his second goal in the 72nd minute to make it 2-0.
Guinea responded two minutes later. Mohamed Camara pulled one back for the Syli U20 in the 74th minute. Ibrahima Ndiaye equalised in the 79th minute to take the match back to square one. In extra time, Ndiaye scored his second goal in the 112th minute to lead Guinea to a stunning comeback.

A rematch with Gambia awaits in the final

Guinea secured qualification for the Ghana 2027 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations. The Syli U20 had beaten Mali 1-0 and Liberia 1-0 in the group stage. They also lost 1-2 to Gambia in the third round. The two teams will meet again in the final. Gambia had beaten Liberia 2-0 in the other semi-final.
